Architectural grilles and registers serve both a practical and architectural purpose. They allow the passage of heated or cooled air into an interior space.
Or they allow air to leave an interior space and take the form of return grilles or registers.
Registers for floor and wall applications may or may not have an air control device positioned behind the linear bar grille. This device, usually a damper, helps moderate air flow. We can provide floor registers and grilles with opposed blade dampers to regulate air flow volume.
Advanced Architectural Grilleworks provides informative air flow reference illustrations to assist your team in choosing the best architectural grille style for your room’s conditions.
An architectural grille is a decorative metal panel through which air passes. It may or may not be used in conjunction with an air control device.
Due to the unlimited range of patterns, designs and scale, air flow is typically more random.
In addition to their functionality, architectural grilles and registers are increasingly utilized in renovations and new construction for their decorative and architectural elements. Your Advanced Architectural Grilleworks experts can provide guidance, many innovative designs and solutions for your projects.
Straight Airflow
Air Pattern
The term linear bar grille is usually applied to any air outlet or intake that consists of a rectangular or square face. Typically the linear bars are fixed in one direction. Air flow may be controlled with a louvered damper mounted behind the grille. AAG provides linear bar grilles that incorporate architectural character and details combined with the performance requirements of HVAC system design.
16˚ Directed Airflow
Air Pattern
Linear bar grilles provide a variety of air pattern options. Side wall mounted grilles can be set straight for a direct flow into your space. Alternatively, the bars can be angled or deflected to direct air into the space. The linear bars can also be customized to achieve dual directions blowing both straight and deflected. The size of your space and the layout of your room will determine which design is the most beneficial.
30˚ Directed Airflow
Drop
This refers to cool air entering a warmer space and following its natural tendency to move downward. Drop will increase as the velocity of the air increases. Drop can be reduced by spreading the air across the ceiling surface or by using upward deflection. AAG offers multiple standard deflected grille products. In addition, we can customize linear bar direction to achieve any of your air movement requirements
